Clean Up on Aisle Three
A supernatural micro-fiction... with a twist
The woman frowned when she saw the knocked over bottles of pop fizzing and oozing all over the recently mopped pantry floor. “Sam, would you hand me the role of Bounty from the groceries we just bought? The stupid cat knocked over the bottles again.”
Muttering violently under her breath, she threw the now sodden paper towels into the trash and stormed from the room – the eerie specter of a cat unseen in the corner.
For once I’m sharing a current entry into the Science Fiction & Fantasy Community 75-word story challenge! The genre for this month’s challenge is ‘supernatural’ and the theme ‘share the bounty.’ Naturally, I had to have a bit of word-play fun with the theme and do something a little more off-the-wall with it. So, as one of the mini-reviews of my entry to the story challenge proposed, was the cat a ghost or were they just being ghosted? I’ll leave that to your imagination to decide!
